This session is designed to provide small business owners, managers or employees with basic information on preparing a business to sell to the government.
In this session, we will cover:
if the NSW Government should be your customer
what you will need to demonstrate to win opportunities
the formal requirements around contracting with the government
This session focuses on the things you can do to present your business to a buyer for the NSW Government. The information in this session should also help you attract other buyers or clients, including Federal, local or other state government agencies and private sector businesses.

Session 2: Finding Opportunities
Have you thought about selling your products or services to NSW Government but not sure where to start?
This session will cover how you can find opportunities to sell goods or services to the NSW Government.
In this session, we will cover:
what government buyers are looking for and what they need to consider when purchasing a product or service
how suppliers are chosen
the primary ways the government buys
how your business can tap into the ways the government buys goods and services
While Session 1 - Getting Business Ready was all about your business and how to prepare your business to sell to government, this session will focus on NSW Government buying and what your business offers.

Session 3: Selling to Government
Your business is approached by a government buyer interested in your product. They ask that you develop a proposal, quote or bid, but you're unsure of where to start?
This session will cover what you will need to prepare and plan when developing a detailed written proposal, quote or bid to the NSW Government.
In this session, we will cover:
receiving and understanding a request from a government buyer
deciding if this is the opportunity for you
preparing a simple proposal
realistically pricing your proposal based on what you know about the opportunity and the contract
how the NSW Government conducts formal tendering
In this session, it is assumed you have completed the Getting Ready Checklist from session 1 and researched your potential new customer.

Session 4: Successful Supplying
This session assumes you have just received an email saying the NSW Government buyer would like to buy a substantial amount of your business's product or service.
Where do you go from here? How do you move your business from being the preferred supplier into a productive, expanding supply relationship which benefits both the government and your business?
In this session, we will cover:
how to negotiate and finalise a contract
establishing the client relationship
setting up payment
receiving feedback from your customer
using this contract to win more work from the NSW Government.
This session focuses on assisting you to make the NSW Government a good customer for your business.
