In this Construct NSW course, developers and builders in the Class 2 market will learn about the procurement processes and quality assurance practices that are critical to the construction of a quality development.  It will encourage best-practice processes around scoping, contracting, and procuring services for a project, including the embedding of practices surrounding the governance of procurement contracts and the payment for works completed.   Topics include: Scoping the end-to-end project Procurement processes to engage trusted and qualified designers and constructors Contracting for services and contract governance Validating qualifications and licences of trades, installers, and other professionals Governance processes surrounding payment for works completed Preparation and management of Quality Assurance procedures

This Construct NSW course is designed for installers of solar panels and battery systems (Installers) and is recommended training for anyone involved in the installation or maintenance of solar power or battery systems on domestic premises in NSW.  On successful completion of this course, you will be able to: identify asbestos in its different forms describe the potential health risks if you are exposed to asbestos list some of the building products that contain Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) explain how to minimise risks from exposure to ACM explain what to do if you come in contact with ACM, and outline the processes to be followed to manage and dispose of ACM

You’ll learn about processes and technical insights for several remediation approaches using real-life examples and case studies to help apply your skills and knowledge in practice. Who should do this course?Engineers and professionals involved in the design, procurement and construction of façades. Participants must have two – five years’ experience in engineering or a related role.  Roles include façade, structural, ESD, fire, acoustic or services engineers; architects; facility managers; asset managers; and construction professionals.

In this Construct NSW course, you will learn how to be an effective communicator which will help you to create ‘trustworthy’ building projects. Key concepts include: communicating with customers barriers to effective communication effective communication plans the link between communication and site safety communicating the ‘trustworthiness’ of your work.  Work through the course and complete the assessment quiz to obtain a certificate of completion.

In this course you will learn about the consultant’s best approach to using timber structures in mid-rise projects, and the advantages when correctly designed and procured.

This Construct NSW course will provide you with the knowledge to create a safe and effective construction site, including: planning to ensure daily construction activities, hazards and safety risks are assessed, control measures are implemented, and you are able to adapt to any changes that arise during construction communicating effectively with contractors and other persons (duty holders) on-site carrying out rudimentary checks, for example, on signage, perimeter fencing, scaffolding, mobile plant, sediment barriers etc. reviewing and updating key documentation, such as HRCW, SMWS’s, construction program, designs, site inductions etc. making sure contractors understand and acknowledge their specific roles and responsibilities location of the site ‘shed’, key documentation and facilities (amenities). This course is aimed at all NSW construction and building practitioners, including developers, builders, certifier, trades, suppliers, installers, manufacturers. This course is not limited to people who have a physical presence on the construction site. Corporate partners will also benefit from this course.
